2021 Phoenix Football Hobby Box

So far this has been my favorite football product this year. It has had a good balance of numbered cards and price when compared to the other 2021 products.

Donruss Football was heavy on paper cards with very little value and was very expensive for the run it produced. This hike in price could be because of the Downtown inserts and the large QB class, but I felt that it was better to buy one Hobby for that product and call it a day.

Spectra had no main inserts, but produced a large number of numbered cards. Does this justify its $1600-1700 price tag, I guess if you hit a large auto it can, but it also felt like it was not valuable for the consumer.

Absolute started as a $600 box and now have run up to $1000 a box. This product is great for Kaboom hunting and long-term holding. I did enjoy this product but this high price for a Kaboom chase when you can pull a Kaboom from retail seemed unreasonable outside the first box.

Finally we make it to Phoenix which I was able to buy in the mid-$400 range for both my first and second box. I standby my initial thought that the price-point is attractive because there is only a hobby version, The cards seem to have high level of QC to this print run, and there are many numbered cards which I find most desirable.

In closing, the potential $1500 price tag for Prizm football (with the knowledge that there is a retail version) seems way too high for a product that will be over printed and even possibly lack a standard of QC that we desire.
